Plan your Visit
A visit to Allerford Tea Room isn’t about rushing in and out. It’s about slowing down, taking a breath, and enjoying a little time well spent with good food and good company.
Whether you’re stopping by mid-walk, meeting friends or simply looking for somewhere calm and welcoming, we hope you’ll find this a place you can linger a little while.
-
You’ll find us in the picturesque Exmoor village of Allerford, just outside of Minehead, surrounded by rolling hills and quiet village life.
Once you arrive in the village, we are easy to spot and well signposted, with free parking close by. Many people discover us whilst exploring Exmoor - and end up staying longer than planned.
-
Our opening hours change with the seasons. During the summer months, we are open 6 days a week (closed on Saturdays) and close at 4pm.
For special events, food nights and seasonal changes, we recommend checking our social media which we update regularly.
If you’re unsure, feel free to get in touch before visiting - we’re always happyy to help.
-
The food here is familiar, comforting and made to be enjoyed.
We serve Freshly Baked Cakes, Traditional Cream Teas, Hearty Ploughman's Lunches, Jacket Potatoes, Sandwiches and of course, our famous crumpets. Nothing is over complicated - just well-loved favourites done properly.
We use locally produced ingredients as much as possible, and in the summer months we are very lucky to get much of our salad from local villagers grown in their gardens.
Once a month, we also open in the evening for themed food nights. Please take a look at our What’s On Page for information on upcoming evenings.
-
Well behaved dogs are very welcome here - and you may even meet our shop dogs, Teddy & Norman, whilst you’re here. We kindly ask that dogs are kept on leads and that owners are mindful of other visitors.
We’re also a popular stop for walkers, so muddy boots and outdoor layers are part of everyday life. Come as you are.
-
We are a family run tea room and aim to be a comfortable, easy-going space for visitors of all ages. Whether it’s a quick drink or lunch from our children’s menu, you’ll be made to feel at home.
